Evan-Moor Educational Publishers Hot Topics is a series of boxed sets of reading selections to support struggling readers. Each fold out card is themed for a topic that is engaging and heavily designed for full engagement. Shown here are 2 of examples of the reading selections (additional designs available upon request). A total of 40 themed reading cards (20 per box) comprise the Hot Topics product line. My role as the lead designer on this project was to design over 2/3rds of the cards. This project has been an all time favorite of my career. Creativity had no boundaries. At one point I scanned vintage cowboy fabric and used that as a textured background to one of the reading selections. 

GOALS

• Create a product line of reading selections that support struggling readers with engaging topics and colorful layouts. 
• Supplemental activity books support the reading card selections.
